We'll have a conversation about you, your business and project, and figure out what's currently working – or not working – and think of possible solutions to help you reach your goals. Looking for a new brand identity? Possibly a website redesign or one built from scratch. Perhaps you’re in need of print materials – brochures, fliers, posters, business cards. Whatever the project is, we will talk through to determine your needs and goals, and to come up with a plan to move forward.
During our initial consultation, we will likely be able to give you a rough time and cost estimate for what it will take to bring your vision to life.
Once we've determined if your project can be accomplished within your budget, we will get to work on the proposal which includes: the scope of work to be completed, the timeline for the work, and a more precise estimate.
You’ll review the proposal and let us know when you are ready to move forward with your project. We’ll collect a signed agreement and a retainer of a third of the project estimate to get your project scheduled.
Each design job begins with a Brand Style Guide. If you are coming to us with a Style Guide intact, wonderful. We’ll incorporate it into – or create one from scratch – a one pager containing information about your brand including imagery, fonts, and color selection. Your one-page brand style guide is a solid starting point with basic guidelines for creating consistent marketing collateral.
Next, we will carefully consider your mission, needs, content, and audience and begin crafting your materials.
If we’re designing and building a website, we ensure the design will work on a range of device and screen sizes and make it equally as useful to mobile users as it is to desktop users.
If we are designing print collateral, it will reflect your brand and speak to your audience.
We will generally present you with digital mockups of a few pages of your project and will take feedback and make adjustments to the design/s. We generally go through two to three rounds of feedback from our clients.
Once you're happy, you will you sign-off on the design and send a second 1/3 of the estimated project cost as a retainer to move to the next stage of the project.
Your design, which at this point is just a few images, is ready for crafting and/or coding. We create your pieces and/or the entire skeleton of your website, making sure everything is working, inside and out.
This is by far the longest part of the project, but it is where all the magic happens and your print collateral and/or new site goes from being a concept to a reality.
If we’re building a website, now it's time to fill it with content. Sometimes this is something our clients do, sometimes it's something we do. It all depends on the client, project, budget, and whether or not the content is all ready at this stage. Either way, we will spend about an hour of training you on your site.
When you give us the green light, we will launch your site. If your site is not based on a Content Management System, this is when you'll receive your final invoice for the actual project cost minus the two previous retainers. Final payment on web design projects is due within 14 days.
Necessary maintenance and updates for your site are handled on an hourly basis in 15 minute increments with only a 15 minute minimum at our current hourly rate. There are no expensive maintenance agreements that charge you for a set number of hours whether you use them or not. We like to keep things simple and affordable. Most simple updates are handled within 48 hours of receiving an email from you with instructions. More complex or time consuming updates can be estimated for you ahead of time if requested, and will be completed as scheduling allows.
